Acrobats Shine in Portugal

Gymnastics NSW would like to congratulate the acrobats from Gladesville RSL Gymnastics, for their fantastic efforts at the recent Maia International Acrobatics Cup in Portugal.Led by head coach Agi Sajgal, Gladesville had nine athletes take on the world's best over the weekend.

Women's Pair, Daisy Puckeridge and Katie Rose qualified through to finals, and finished an incredible 5th place. An outstanding achievement for Katie's first international competition. Women's Group Milly Puckeridge,
Allegra Muga, and Kate Barry placed ninth in a very tough field, narrowly missing out on a berth into finals. While Women's Group Kangyi Simmons, Bella Cheshire and Amelia Warren performed three great routines in only their second ever competition as a trio.

"With new groupings, a massive jump in level and skills for all groups, and for being so early on in the competition calendar, the girls all performed amazing routines and held their own on the international stage. We are very proud and now even more excited for the year to come leading up to 2018" said coach Ingrid Dunkerley.

This no doubt serves as an important step as the acrobats from Gladesville work to earn their spot onto the Australian team for the World Age Group Competition in early 2018.

To catch the groups competing their amazing routines, come along to the NSW Senior State Championships held on the 1st and 2nd on of April. Information available on the Gymnastics NSW events calendar .
