Nothing can Stop North Coast!

Amongst disaster comes stories of kindness and adventure. This is the case for North Coast Gymnastics, located in Lismore.

After the local levee burst over the weekend, the town of Lismore was completely flooded, an obstacle for athletes Jafari, Caine and Byron who were due to compete in Sydney at the Senior State Championships. Although stranded due to the weather, nothing could stop the North Coast gymnasts, who were picked up by boat before flying to Sydney to compete in the Trampoline event.

The team of three also had a very successful day with all gymnasts placing in their divisions. The highlight of the day with Caine Franks who took out 2nd place in the men’s under 15’s double mini trampoline and 4th place in the men’s under 15’s trampoline.

Back in Lismore, the North Coast team completed their clean up in time to run Holiday care for those in the local community stuck due to the floods. We are so proud of the selfless way that our Northern Gymnastics community have continued to provide fun to a rebuilding community!  Amazing work North Coast!

Gymnastics NSW send their thoughts to all of the families that were affected by Cyclone Debbie.
