Acrobatic World Championships Wrap Up

Following a week of amazing results at the FIG Acrobatic Gymnastic World Age (read full results here), our Senior Trio's took the floor from the 13th-15th April in Belgium for the FIG World Championships.

While World Age sees competitors across 3 different age categories (11-16, 12-18 and 13-19), the World Championships competition only has one category, senior. This is the biggest annual competition for acrobatic gymnasts and gathers the best of the best from each country.

Australia had two senior women’s trio's attend the World Championships, both from NSW clubs. Lauren Fraguhar, Tylah Doosey and Maja Moore (Oak flats Albion Park Kiama Gymnastics & Acrobatics Club) performed great routines in the preliminary round to earn them 13th position. Sarah Hemmings, Jillian Connor and Madeline Romero (Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre) finished in 18th place respectively.

We are so proud to have these acrobats call our state home and we cannot wait to see them take the floor at the Australian National Championships in Melbourne in June.

Acrobatics will also have their State Championships this weekend (21st-22nd April), which will be held at Sydney Gymnastics Aquatic Centre. Don’t miss out on the action, grab tickets today
