Southern Region Rainbow Festival

On Sunday 24th June, the Southern Region held the Inaugural Southern Region Rainbow Festival for its WAG Foundation gymnasts. Held at Gymtastic Kids in Picton, the event saw over 200 athletes, from Goulburn through to Liverpool, compete across level 1 and 2.

For many of these gymnasts, this was their first competition experience and a great chance to put their skills to the test. With around 1000 spectators coming through the venue’s door throughout the day to support the gymnasts doing their best on the competition floor, the region’s community spirit was on display for all to see.

With rainbow face painting, rainbow jelly, and of course each gymnasts working hard to take home a rainbow ribbon for a top-banded score, the day was an explosion of colour and gymnastics!

The event was also linked up with the region holding a beginner judges course locally the day before, giving those judges who attended the course the perfect opportunity to wear their navy and white and judge at their first competition the next day.

After such a successful event, the region is now looking to make the event an annual competition on the Southern Region’s calendar.

Congratulations  to the Southern Region team for a great event!
