Kira claims another World Cup Silver
Trampoline gymnast Kira Ward claimed another World Cup silver medal in Baku over the weekend.
This is the second silver for Ward, would claimed a medal position in the same synchronised trampoline event with Western Australian Eva Kierath in Japan last year.
Ward, who trains at Sydney Gymnastics Centre, and Kierath secured a finals position in 7th place before finishing in 2nd position behind Belarus with a score of 46.95.
Held in Baku, Azerbaijan, the FIG Trampoline World Cup was the first of the 2020 Olympic Cycle. Just 16 Male and 16 Female Individual competitors secure a trampoline position for the 2020 Olympic Games. Trampoline athletes will compete across a series of World Cup Events, as well as the 2019 World Championships with a hope of securing an individual position for Tokyo.
NSW teammates Dominic Clarke and Blake Rutherford finished in competitive positions for the 2020 Olympic goal, finishing in 18th and 22nd position for the Men’s Individual event.
