Gymnastics NSW partner with NSWIS to enhance athlete wellbeing

Understanding the importance of supporting athletes both on and off the competition floor, Gymnastics NSW (GNSW) has announced a new partnership with the NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) which will ensure the world class provision of athlete wellbeing & engagement (AW&E), and nutrition services.

The partnership will provide 40 of GNSW’s High Performance Program athletes with the opportunity to receive training and support from NSWIS experts across numerous disciplines including career and education, personal development, community engagement, and performance nutrition.

By investing in the guidance, support, resources and education provided to athletes, GNSW aims to develop athletes who can successfully progress through the high performance pathway, providing them with the tools to make informed decisions that impact their performance in both sport and life.

Gymnastics NSW CEO Aaron Bloomfield sees the partnership as an exciting step for GNSW’s high performance programs.

“The AW&E and nutrition services will provide a unique opportunity for our top athletes to receive specialised support to enable them to achieve their personal goals in and out of the gym,” said Bloomfield.

NSWIS CEO Kevin Thompson was looking forward to seeing their experts working alongside many of Australia’s top gymnasts.

“Providing world class services to athletes is at the heart of what we do,” said Thompson.

“Gymnastics NSW have illustrated an ongoing commitment to the personal and professional development of their high performance athletes, and we are delighted to be working alongside them on this initiative.”
