Gymnasts receive Commonwealth games Athlete Grant

Congratulations to Elena Chipizubov and Jack Hall, recipients of the 2019 Commonwealth Games NSW Athlete Grant. The CGNSW Athlete Grant, first awarded in 2016, provides financial assistance for young ‘up and coming’ NSW athletes.

Women's Artistic Gymnast Elena (Sydney Gymnastics Centre) is a current National Squad Member for Artistic Gymnastics. The 2018 Junior International athlete of the year,  Elena was a member of the Bronze winning team at Pacific Rim Championships, as well as placing 3rd all around at Australian Championships.

In her first year as a Senior International athlete, Elena finished 4th in the beam final at the Melbourne World Cup, with hope of more success at the upcoming Flanders International competition. We wish Elena the best of luck as she works towards 2019 World Championship selection and her Commonwealth Games goals.

Men's Artistic gymnast Jack Hall (NSW High Performance Centre/Sydney Olympic Park Gymnastics) also has his eyes on future Commonwealth and Olympic success. Competing as a Junior, 2018 saw Jack place 5th all around at Pacific Rim Championships, as well as an impressive 2nd on rings and high bar at the London Open.

Competing in Senior International for the 2019 Australian championships, Jack was part of the silver medal winning NSW team, as well as bringing home an individual bronze on rings.

Congratulations to both Elena and Jack on their successes.
