Gymnastics NSW appoint new President
At the 2019 Annual General Meeting, Ms. Carol Mills was unanimously voted the new President of Gymnastics NSW.
Carol Mills has extensive board and committee experience as a member and chair, including major cultural and tourism boards, the National Art School, the NSW Institute of Sport, and Western Sydney Parklands Trust. Carol is currently the Director, Institute for Public Policy and Governance at UTS, which provides consulting, teaching and learning services nationally and internationally, including to major government and community clients.
Her leadership career has covered a diversity of areas, with a strong focus on sport and recreation administration, grants and facilities management, social inclusion, community wellbeing, planning and service delivery. Most notably serving the people of NSW as Director General for Communities NSW.
Gymnastics NSW Chief Executive, Mr. Aaron Bloomfield, welcome’s Ms. Mill’s appointment.
“Carol is a highly respected professional with extensive experience in public, private, non-profit and tertiary institutions. Her outstanding career has seen her guide some of Australia’s top governing bodies and we are delighted to have her build upon the legacy of outgoing President Philip Western to lead our dynamic sport to an even greater future,” stated Bloomfield.
Outside her extensive corporate career, Carol has a long-term commitment to sport and recreation. The former President of the Sydney University Women’s Sports Association, Carol received a Gold Award for Outstanding Service to Sydney University Sport’s administration.
Carol will join Virginia Elliott, Jane Cooke, Bernard Hui, David Clarke and Chief Executive Aaron Bloomfield on the Gymnastics NSW Board.
