Gymnastics NSW High Performance Scholarship

Gymnastics NSW is committed to ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of its members. In 2019 Gymnastics NSW introduced the High Performance Scholarship program, providing services and support to assist high performance athletes both in and out of the gym.

After a brief hiatus in 2020 due to COVID-19 we are pleased to announce that Gymnastics NSW will not only recommence the High Performance Scholarship program in 2021 but expand its application to include Acrobatic and Aerobic Gymnastics in addition to the four Olympic Gymsports.

We are pleased to announce that Katrina Mukcahy has been reappointed the Gymnastics NSW Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement Officer. Katrina is an experienced AW&E coach who has worked for over 5 years at the NSW Institute of Sport with Elite athletes, coaches and programs. Prior to this Katrina worked at the Australian College of Physical Education as a Senior Career Consultant, providing individual career coaching sessions and running career management workshops. She is passionate about helping athletes, parents and coaches to understand the link between personal happiness and sporting performance, providing strategies for good wellbeing management.

A key benefit of becoming a scholarship holder is access to Athlete Wellbeing & Engagement and Nutrition services. The program will support athletes in making informed decisions that impact their performance in sport, and in life by providing guidance, support, resources and education.

Working closely with Katrina, selected NSW High Performance Scholarship recipients will receive guidance, support, resources and education in the areas of career and education, personal development, community engagement, and performance nutrition.
