39th FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships Wrap
Congratulations to NSW rhythmic gymnastics stars Asya Seker and Isabella Wang!
Both gymnasts, from Le Ray Gymnastics, performed stunning routines at their debut World Championships held in Sofia, Bulgaria from September 14 – 18.
Asya took to the floor for individual routines in two apparatus – club and hoop. The 16-year-old scored 23.500 for clubs and 26.150 for her hoop routine. Meanwhile, Isabella scored 21.050 for ribbon and 23.300 for ball. Wonderful results for both athletes!
Isabella even got to celebrate her 17th birthday during the competition.
“So grateful for this amazing experience and the valuable, various lessons it has taught me,” she wrote on Instagram.
The NSW athlete thanked her support network and looked towards the future.
“Only upwards from here. Time to reset and work for next year’s tough season,” she said.
Both NSW athletes were joined by Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist Alex Kiroi-Bogatyreva, who competed in all four apparatus and the all-around competition.
We are proud of you all – congratulations!
